Empowering education
From March through May, our team came together for our annual Beards and Braids for Busy Season (BBFBS) campaign, in support of the Malala Fund. This fun and meaningful tradition invites employees and their families to showcase their most creative beards, braids, and/or mustaches, sparking both friendly competition and a shared commitment to a cause. Participants submit their styles for public voting, with the coveted prize being “bragging rights.”
In 2024, this initiative raised over $5,000 to support the Malala Fund’s mission of ensuring every girl has the opportunity to learn and lead. Over the years, BBFBS has grown into a beloved tradition at GTN, raising more than $45,000 for global organizations while fostering a sense of unity and healthy competition within our team during tax season.
Our support for the Malala Fund extends beyond the BBFBS campaign. With every new corporate client and every completed client survey received, a donation is made to the Malala Fund to support women’s education worldwide. The Malala Fund invests in education activists and advocates who are driving solutions for girls’ education within their communities.
With more than 120 million girls still lacking access to education today, our social mission remains clear: to help break down barriers and ensure that learning opportunities reach those who need them most. GTN is proud to stand behind this cause, driven by a commitment to provide every girl the chance to shape her own future.
Feeding communities
As part of our annual conference this past August the GTN team packaged over 25,000 meals for individuals and families facing food insecurity. Organized in partnership with US Hunger, this event highlighted our commitment to giving back to communities in need.
Since its founding in 2010, US Hunger has distributed over 184 million meals across more than 50 countries, focusing on providing healthy meals while addressing the root causes of food insecurity. We are proud to support their mission and contribute to the ongoing fight against hunger.
Additionally, during our annual conference, we hosted a series of competitive games where teams could earn donations for their chosen charities. This spirited event resulted in over $5,000 in donations to four impactful organizations: charity: water, the Humane Society of the United States, Second Harvest Heartland, and World Central Kitchen. We are honored to support these organizations, which are making a significant difference in their respective fields.
Spreading joy, inspiring dreams
Leading up to the holiday season, GTN participated in the Toys for Tots program, facilitated by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. This annual initiative spreads holiday cheer to millions of children across the United States, providing gifts to those who may otherwise go without during a time of celebration.
With many communities still facing financial hardships, the holiday season can be an especially difficult time for families. Thanks to the generous contributions from our employees, their families, and the public, GTN was able to collect 170 toys in 2024, helping bring joy and relief to families in need across the country.
Uplifting communities through volunteering
Throughout the year, the GTN team is encouraged to utilize their paid volunteer time to give back to their communities. In 2024, our employees volunteered at food banks, organized a blood drive, served on school boards, and assisted with school fundraising and philanthropy events. Other GTNers volunteered with non-profits and shelters to teach financial literacy courses, and supported organizations such as Feed My Starving Children, the Red Cross, and the Salvation Army.
